Program Notes

Master Sergeant Paul Murtha, chief arranger for The United States Army Band, composed Tricked Out Trombones to feature the concert band trombone section at the 2007 Eastern Trombone Workshop.

- Program Note from liner notes of Army Band CD High-Speed

This novelty work is a jazzy mashup of classical themes featuring the trombone section. Heard are snatches of Ride of the Valkyries, Prelude to Lohengrin, the Darth Vader Theme, the James Bond Theme, Ravel's Bolero, and of course 76 Trombones.
