A spirited overture that is full of exciting rhythms, bold melodies and contemporary harmonies, Tribute and Triumph was commissioned by the Washington Irving Middle School Eighth Grade Band, Clarksburg, West Virginia, and dedicated to the memory of band member Christopher Robert Sprenger. The work was premiered January 10, 2000, Mr. Philip M. Wyatt, director.
