Program Notes
Imagine if you will a bus stop taking you to a destination of nostalgia and weirdness: a place with diners that serve greasy French fries buried under whipped cream and Sriracha chocolate sauce but only after the lunch rush at 2 p.m. by special waiters that speak only German after being raised in the southern tip of Japan, a locale where you may only place softball upon proof that you can drink a whole can of soda in two gulps or less while dancing a soft show routine, a town where the local symphony consists of 42 sight reading weightlifters banging randomly on various sized anvils because rehearsal is forbidden. A destination not of geography but of mind or madness where the next sign post up ahead reads 'Outer Space, New Jersey.'
