Program Notes

It is safe to say that Grofé’s iconic work from the early 1930s remains his most recognized and programmed creation to this day. A master of instrumental color and texture, themes from four of the five program-based movements are included in this arrangement for younger players, including "Sunrise," "On the Trail," "Sunset," and "Cloudburst." Audiences are nonetheless assured to experience the freshness, the richness, and the excitement of the original score.
