Program Notes

This exciting piece features two sources of energy attempting to mesh. The first energy is a driving, pulsating theme with accents in the percussion and brass. The second energy is a mysterious force with an exotic sound. These two sources eventually collide in the percussion break and dissipate into a smooth and lyrical melodic section. Finally, as the piece comes to an exciting conclusion, a newly formed energy appears with a voracity that includes characteristics of both energy sources.
