Program Notes

Beautiful melodic lines thoughtfully embrace the hope of a wish granted upon seeing the first star in the night sky. Based on the endearing nursery rhyme, this piece seeks to capture the simple yet uplifting nightly moment to which all can relate.

- Program Note from publisher

Star light, Star bright
First star I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have the wish I wish tonight

This nursery rhythm, first published in the nineteenth century, speaks to the superstition of hoping for a granted wish upon seeing the first star in the night sky. Star Bright is a reflective piece that celebrates this simple, yet uplifting nightly moment to which each of us can relate.
