Program Notes

Naohiro Iwai has produced a swinging arrangement of four well-known marches by John Philip Sousa: The High School Cadets, El Capitan, The Thunderer and The Stars and Stripes Forever. This top Japanese arranger whimsically chose to incorporate a touch of samba and cha-cha into these American marches. The result is a sparkling medley of classics in a refreshing new context.
