- Program Note from score

The composer describes this piece as "a musical celebration of the human spirit." The work begins maestoso, with a boisterous fanfare of heroism and pride. Woodwinds enter to set the festive and playful mood of the composition, which captures a joyous musical journey celebrating freedom and passion for life. After the opening fanfare, the tempo becomes lively with syncopated rhythms followed by a gentle and expressive lyrical passage. The rhythmic section returns again until the composition ends with the maestoso brass fanfares.
