Program Notes

Sing! was commissioned by the Singapore Wind Symphony for their inaugural "Sing! A Musical Celebration" concert series in 2012. It is a piece that celebrates the unity of Singapore's diverse population over the past half a century of independence, and uses adaptations of some local folk tunes from each of the racial groups and some national songs. Eventually the tunes all come together in perfect harmony, and concludes in a rousing ending.
