Program Notes

Composed in three concise and descriptive movements, this diverse composition opens with Broadcast Memories, recalling some of the sounds of early television program music. Romance is slow and lyrical and is dedicated to young or first-time lovers. The concluding movement, On the Corner. evokes the street corners of big cities, where groups of “doo-wop” singers gather under the streetlights on warm summer evenings to serenade the apartment dwellers
