Program Notes
Here's a superb first suite for young bands, with short movements and varied styles. This is a wonderful medium to teach part independence in a very musical setting. The movements include: Antiphon and March, notable for its fine trumpeting lines; Air, a colorful slower movement with effective layering of sections of the band; and Dance, with its rhythmic appeal and full band scoring.
