Program Notes

Serendipity March is a prototype of Sousa march for young band. The "dog fight" section is in minor and the melody is derived from the fourth movement of Antonin Dvorak's New World Symphony. The work even includes a "stinger" at the end. Every player has the opportunity to perform the melody at some time.
