Program Notes

The new song of the United States Space Force was unveiled on September 20, 2022. It was written by the chief arranger of the U.S. Coast Guard Band, Sean Nelson, with lyrics by James Teachenor. The title comes from the motto of the Space Force, which is the Latin for "Always Above."

The Space Force is the sixth branch of the United States military, established in 2019.

- Program Note from The Guardian

The lyrics were written by Jamie Teachenor:

We're the mighty watchful eye,
Guardians beyond the blue,
The invisible front line,
Warfighters brave and true.
Boldly reaching into space,
There's no limit to our sky.
Standing guard both night and day,
We're the Space Force from on high.
