Staff Sergeant Sara Corry (b. 1988) is an American soldier, composer and arranger.
Corry grew up in a family of service members and developed an early respect and fondness for public service. Her childhood was spent playing various instruments, including harp, piano and violin. In college she turned her focus to my real passion, composing and arranging music. Corry studied music composition at the Southern Methodist University, with a master's from University of Texas Austin and DMA from the University of Colorado Boulder.
"It wasn’t until 2010 that these two aspects of my life came together. I visited Arlington National Cemetery for the funeral of my grandfather, Lieutenant Col. George R. Corry. I remember the power of hearing the ceremonial band conduct military funeral honors for my grandfather. Something clicked for me that day."
Staff Sgt. Corry serves as the staff arranger for the United States Army Band, 'Pershing's Own,' in Washington, D,C.
