Program Notes

Sara's Soul is the third movement of Mertens' Winanga-Li suite.

Winanga-Li is an Australian Aboriginal child and family centre. It is a community controlled charity providing services and programs across regional New South Wales. Its mission is to build strong children, strong families and culturally strong communities.

From the nearly extinct Gamilaraay language, "winanga-li" means to hear or listen.
