Program Notes
Using an exotic-sounding percussion score, this selection takes the listener on a vivid African safari. It evokes images of elephants slowly moving about the plains, hippos enjoying some grass, and beautiful grazing zebras. The composer uses a great deal of interplay between parts for this level to further enhance the feeling of visiting a far-away land filled with amazing creatures.
