Program Notes

The dictionary defines a “ruckus” as a noisy commotion, fracas or rumpus. This powerful, rhythmic work fits this definition by combining jazz, rock, and symphonic sensibilities into a unique work for concert band, featuring 5/4 meter and a creative use of orchestrations. This piece was commissioned for the 2013 Central Cass High School Band from Casselton, North Dakota.
