Program Notes

This fine original march composed in a classic American style is based on the famous Aloha Oe composed by Queen Liliuokalani in 1878. Featuring American military percussion as well as traditional Hawaiian instruments including optional conch shell, the blend of musical textures creates an unusual yet familiar march setting.

- Program Note adapted from publisher

Inspired by Queen Lili'uokalani. Composed for Michael D. Nakasone – conductor, visionary, mentor and friend to all.
