Biography

Robert Brown (b. 1917, New York, N.Y.) is or was an American composer and educator.

Dr. Brown earned a doctoral degree in music from Columbia University Teachers College and spent 19 years as chairman of music in the public schools in Bronxville, New York. He then was appointed district superintendent of music for the public schools of Levittown, New York. He has been active as a composer, arranger, guest conductor and author. He was a guest lecturer at the City University of New York and is a member of the New York State Music Regents Committee.
