Program Notes

During the COVID-19 isolation and resulting limbo in the spring of 2020, Julie Giroux found it difficult to concentrate on composition. She recalled a happier time, a tour of the British Isles she had taken in 2019 with conductor Jason Noble and his Scarsdale (N.Y.) High School Band. She especially remembered the beauty of Ireland and its major river, the Shannon, and decided to write a work to recall that beauty.
