Program Notes
The Rising Cathedral describes a mysterious mythical cathedral rising slowly from the waters of a lake. The giant bells gradually become louder as each player helps to bring the magic cathedral to the surface. The work was written in 1943 when the composer was stationed with the USMA Band at West Point, NY.
