Program Notes
A Rhapsody of Christmas Carols, originally commissioned by the United States Marine Band, features many holiday favorites, including Good Christian Friends, Rejoice; O Come, Emmanuel; We Three Kings; What Child Is This; Joy to the World; Away in a Manger; Deck the Halls; and Angels We Have Heard on High. What makes this particular medley noteworthy is that like Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, each tune features a different instrumental section of the band.
