Program Notes
This piece in three short movements is inspired by the sights, sounds, smells, and festivities that can be found at Renaissance festivals throughout the world. Each movement is meant to capture a unique aspect of these events, including the detailed costumes and regal court dances, the pastoral settings of the stables, and the riveting jousting, archery, and horsemanship tournaments.
