Program Notes

Karl King wrote more than marches, he embraced the music of his day and incorporated it into his own writing. This was the first in a series of pieces he wrote utilizing the ragtime syncopation that was so popular in America at the time, 1913. This delightfully rhythmic rag is dedicated to his friend Charles Rozell, ragtime drummer.
