Program Notes

Fred Jewell, the famous bandmaster of the Barnum & Bailey Circus Band in the early 1900s, gave us this great march that evokes images found under the big top. It was composed after Jewell's retirement from circus life, in 1922, when he was conductor of the Iowa Brigade Band.
