Program Notes

The Picasso Summer is a 1969 drama directed by Serge Bourguignon and Robert Sallin, starring Albert Finney and Yvette Mimieux. The screenplay was written by Ray Bradbury based upon his 1957 short story, In a Season of Calm Weather. Michel Legrand wrote the music. The film was never released in theaters in the United States.

The plot concerns a summer-long and ultimately futile odyssey by a bored San Francisco architect to meet Pablo Picasso in France.
