Program Notes

Written to celebrate a publisher’s 30th anniversary, Passacaglia has been performed at the All Japan Band Finals 14 times since 1972, and is recognized as a master creation. Composer Kaneda intended for the piece to be appropriate for a fine junior high or high school ensemble, and to provide them joy in creating music through its performance.
