Program Notes

Sirocco is the name for the hot winds that blow over the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Northern Africa. This composition captures the messages carried by these winds, which the composer describes as "emitting exotic energy, creating feelings of introspection and adventure captured in the mystical messages that seem to reside in the breeze."

- Program Note from The Instrumentalist

Oracles of the Sirocco was commissioned by the Regional Repertory Wind Ensemble, Clarksville, Maryland, David Smith, director.
