Program Notes
While on vacation in Hungary, the composer was able to spend two nights in Budapest soaking up the energy of this historic city. A Night in Budapest came out of the experience, based on a folk-like melody with a strong eastern European feel. The musical journey that Bobrowitz created almost feels like a travelogue, starting with an evocative slow-tempo intro, evolving to a dance tempo section with some quirky diversions, and climaxing with an accelerando that leaves the listener absolutely breathless.
