Program Notes

Throughout history, ships and tales of adventure on the high seas have captured imaginations and fueled desires for adventure, escape, and a life beyond the horizon. This interesting composition will undoubtedly pique the imaginations of musicians. A slow, mysterious introduction leads to a jaunty Allegro section with a bold melody. Trumpets are then given the lead before the piece reaches a transition passage that leads to a slower, contrasting section in which the mysterious mood returns. A rousing Coda brings the composition to a dramatic conclusion.
