Program Notes
Years ago, arrangers Eddie Sauter and Bill Finegan did a special arrangement for their jazz band of Prokofiev's familiar Troika from Lieutenant Kije. Tom's [Wallace] adaptation of that arrangement for concert band retains all the wit and color of the Sauter-Finegan chart, which features delightful high woodwind and low brass effects. Pure holiday fun, with a sophisticated twist!
