Biography

Michael Vertoske (b. 1973, Elmira, N.Y.) is an American composer and educator.

Mr. Vertoske is the band director at Williamsville North High School in Williamsville, N.Y. He attended Ithaca College (Ithaca, N.Y.) where he received Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Vertoske composes music for band and jazz band. His compositions have been performed at several venues, such as the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic and the New York State Band Directors Association Symposium. His works for concert band appear on several state lists, and in the GIA publication, Teaching Music through Performance in Band.
