Program Notes
Malagueña: Extreme and Variations (1928). Malagueña was originally the sixth movement of Lecuona’s suite, Andalucia. This arrangement was created by Gerald Ascione, which features the trombone section. Using Lecuona’s tune Malagueña as source material, Ascione crafted a set of variations, cycling through various styles and genres.
