Program Notes

At the age of 12, Luigi Zaninelli played his first professional engagement as a pianist in the dance orchestra. From that day he has found all forms of dance music irresistible. The Magic Ballroom is a nostalgic voyage back to his youth where the dancers are forever young, and the music plays on and on.

With wit and grace, scenes of dancing come alive on the concert stage. This three-movement work offers a variety of styles, as you are led through Theresa's Two-Step; Pamela's Waltz and the brisk finale movement, Tango Della Rosa.
