Program Notes

This composition is one of two commissioned by the Macungie Band (Pennsylvania) in celebration of the 150th anniversary of its founding in 1855. The piece begins with a drum cadence while snippets of songs that have been popular throughout the band's history fade in and out. The main theme of the march then begins.
