Lino João Vidal Guerreiro
Biography
Lino João Vidal Guerreiro (b. 1977, Tavira, Portugal) is a Portuguese composer.
He began his musical studies with nineteen years old at the Conservatório Regional de Setúbal. He has also studied at the Conservatório Regional de Torres Vedras, and finished the 8th grade in saxophone at the Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa, like the rest of the curriculum. He studied composition at the secondary level with the composer, Daniel Schevtz.
In 2008, he finished the Composition Course at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), where he studied with several composers, Carlos Caires, Christopher Bochmann, José Luis Ferreira, Sérgio Azevedo, in the specific composition area, and with other composers such as Carlos Marecos, João Madureira, Roberto Perez, Benoît Gibson, in other curriculum areas. In 2012, he finished a Masters in Music – expertise in Composition area, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), under the guidance of composer António Pinho Vargas. In 2012, he finished a Masters in Music Education – expertise in Composition area, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), under the guidance of António Pinho Vargas, Carlos Marecos and Francisco Cardoso.
He is currently teaching Composition and Musical Education at the Conservatório de Música D. Dinis, in Odivelas and teaching Music Theory and Analysis at Metropolitana Music High School. He is also the director of mixEnsemble, a musical project that has the philosophy of serve the music and artists in various musical contexts and for various purposes.
