Program Notes

This quiet, lyrical, chorale prelude for winds by master composer Alfred Reed is built on this old Protestant hymn. Delicate in nature and absolutely full of beautiful writing, this is a wonderful composition for more advanced groups who wish to explore the expressive techniques found in this soon-to-be classic.

The King of Love My Shepherd Is was commissioned by the United Township High School Band of East Moline, Illinois, and dedicated to the memory of Ron Ryerson.
