Biography

Karl W.P. (Charles) Koelling ( 28 February 1831, Hamburg, Germany - 3 May 1914, Chicago) was a German composer and pianist . Known as both a teacher and a composer, he wrote many salon pieces for piano and one operetta.

The American editions of his music give his first name as Charles. His La Chasse du Lion was popular during the early part of the twentieth century.
