Biography

John Francis Edmunds (12 December 1928, Cheraw, South Carolina) is an American composer, conductor and educator.

Mr. Edmunds attended the University of Florida, the Naval School of Music, and Florida State University. From 1956 to 1964, he taught instrumental music in the public schools of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Orlando, Florida. From 1964 to 1967, he was assistant director of bands at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1967, he moved to Louisiana State University, where he taught music theory and was staff arranger.
