Biography
Jared Beu (b. 3 August 1993, Austin, Tx.) is an American composer.
Beu began playing piano at the age of six, and very soon thereafter began composing. He later learned to play saxophone, marching percussion, bassoon, and clarinet. Mr. Beu has completed a BM in music composition at the University of Texas, and is currently [2022] pursuing a master's in instrumental conducting at Southern Methodist University.
As a composer, he has written music for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, wind ensemble and orchestra. In 2013, he was commissioned to write the Butler Pops Fanfare, which is performed at the opening of every Austin Symphony Orchestra pops concert. He has won the Austin Symphony Orchestra’s Young Composers Contest twice.
