Program Notes
To Arthur Fiedler
- Program Note from score
The second movement of The Irish Suite from the creative genius of the legendary Leroy Anderson has been re-engraved now with a full score. This more stately movement contrasts stylistically with the others.
- Program Note from publisher
This six-movement suite, of which The Minstrel Boy is the second, was commissioned by the Eire Society of Boston for a Pops Concert conducted by Arthur Fielder on June 6, 1947. Originally entitled Eire Suite, Anderson wrote it in 12 days.
