Program Notes

High Intensity is an exciting and energetic work that can be used as a concert opener or closer. The opening motif is based on a tune that my two-year-old daughter sings around the house, as she runs like a future Olympian. Because of her energy and level of excitement each time she sings the tune, High Intensity seemed to fit.

This work was commissioned by Mae Weiss and the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
