Program Notes

Zachary J. Friedland’s Hear My Voice [was written] in memory of the late UNL [University of Nebraska Lincoln] Bandsman Tyler Butterfield. The piece was commissioned by the Midwest District of Kappa Kappa Psi and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Butterfield, a trumpet player in the Cornhusker Marching Band, Big Red Express and UNL Campus Bands, passed away on Oct. 26, 2018, as the result of a car accident after attending a pep band event before a home football game.
