Biography

Greg Fhiaras (pronounced Fee-AIR-iss) (b. 1957, Cleveland, Ohio) is an American composer and educator.

Greg Fhiaras received his formal training from Mississippi State University where he was principal percussionist and percussion arranger for the Famous Maroon Band. He studied composition/arranging under Dr. Peyton Crowder.

Fhiaras taught band at all levels 27 years in the public and private schools of Mississippi. He also served as a percussion adjudicator and clinician in Mississippi and Alabama. He is presently retired and residing in Gulfport, Mississippi.
