Program Notes
One of the reasons for the growing acceptance of Italian motion pictures in this country has been their wonderful music. Without question, the most outstanding score has been that written for the film Mondo Cane. It's main theme, More, has become one of the most important standards of our time.
The material contained in this arrangement derives from Mondo Cane, as well as the films Malamondo and 8-1/2, Women of the World and Mondo Pozzo. The melodic style natural to Italian music has provided the brilliant John Cacavas with the stimulus necessary to product this richly textured arrangement for concert band.
