Program Notes

Young provides the following notes about Glide Path:

Glide Path is not a specific story about flying, but as I was writing it, certain sections seemed to evoke images of flight. The piece begins with scattered elements, slowly coming together and gaining momentum...the engine firing up on a summer morning, picking up speed down the runway, gliding low across the plains, looking out across the hills to see the ocean in the distance...These are some of the scenes that came to mind.
