Girolamo Deraco

Biography

Girolamo Deraco (b. 1976, Cittanova, Italy) is an Italian composer, visual media artist and producer.

In 2008 Mr. Deraco received a master's in musical composition, cum laude, from the Instituto Superiore di Studi Musicali "L. Boccherini" Lucca. He was also an exchange student at Truman State University (Mo.) in 2009.

Mr. Deraco has been composer in residence and composition assistant of Maestro Kuhn at the Angelo di Montegral music lab, Montegral Academy, Italy since 2009. He is also artistic director of "Cluster- Association of Composers, Lucca,"the Etymos Ensemble since 2004, and the International Opera Composition Course "Giacomo Puccini," held in Lucca, Italy, and other international cities.

He has received a number of awards and commissions in a variety of musical media.
