Program Notes

This is the first in a series of works to follow that are inspired by the language of movie music. Written in the style of a sci-fi adventure, it features 12/8 time signatures, driving rhythms, and hyper-exciting parts.

- Program Note from publisher

Composed in the style of a space opera or science fiction adventure, this short concert opener draws upon the common sonic language used in cinematic music. The work was inspired by such film composers as John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Stu Phillips, and Michael Giacchino. It is the first movement of a larger work by the composer entitled A Cinematic Suite. The fanfare's quick tempo is maintained throughout the movement.
