Biography

G.F. Mitchell was an American clarinetist and composer.

Little is known of Mitchell's life, but it is known that he was a clarinetist in several circus bands. He was with J.H. LaPearl's Circus in 1893, Ringling Brothers in 1893 and 1895, Barnum & Bailey in 1895, and Buffalo Bill's Wild West Circus in 1896. His popular Caesar's Triumphal March is used in circuses for parading or for the "spectacle."
