Biography

Francisco Zacarés Fort (b. 1962, Albal, Valencia, Spain) is a Spanish composer and educator.

Zacarés studied music at the Superior Conservatory of Music "Joaquin Rodrigo" of Valencia, obtaining advanced degrees in the specialities of: Harmony, Counterpoint, Composition, Instrumentation, Solfeggio and Music Theory , Transposition and Accompaniment, Orchestral and Choir Conducting, Trombone, Musical Pedagogy and Musicology. He increased his studies in different specialization courses, both national and international, of history and music theory, analysis, composition, conducting, musicology.

Today he is teacher of counterpoint and fugue at the Superior Conservatory of Music "Joaquín Rodrigo" of Valencia, having taught specialized courses in conducting, analysis, harmony and composition.

His compositions have been performed in Portugal, England, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Israel, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, Norway, Germany, USA, Denmark, Luxembourg, etc., being used as contest and free choice works in different both national and international competitions: WMC Kerkrade (Netherlands), Fliscorno d'Oro in Riva del Garda (Italy), Amateurs Band Contest in Lille (France), International Music Band Contest "City of Valencia", Valencia Provincial Contest , Competition Valencia, Murcia City Contest, Provincial Band Contest Pontevedra (Galicia), etc.

Throughout his career, Francisco Zacarés Fort has won awards worldwide (Holland, USA, Italy, Japan, Belgium), the most recent in 2011 (2nd Prize at the European Composition Competition the Orchestre National d'Harmonie des Jeunes of the CMF).
